Snake will sneak on to Xbox 360

This will soon grace your 360 library

Lately, we've been hearing all of these rumors of Metal Gear Solid 4 coming on the Xbox 360. Konami officially denied that it won't be coming to the Xbox 360. I know a lot you are about to plug money on to a PS3, but wait- this isn't true.

"Capcom does not comment on rumors. Devil May Cry 4 is exclusive to PS3. No other announcements have been made."

Ahh. The words of a Capcom representative. They're so true. That's why there's a DMC4 Xbox 360 pack coming only to the Xbox 360.

This is why I think Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is
coming to the Xbox 360. Developers always deny that games are going to be exclusive. "It's only coming out for the GCN." Heard that with Resident Evil 4.

But guess what? Companies love money. They LOVE it. Unless they are getting something out of being excluvive (big lump sum of money), it won't stay that way very wrong. I don't care what you fanboys think. Profits are what keep the company going. If I can make $30 million more going multiplatform, why would I only make $5 million? Sometimes you are not even guaranteed that money, and that, sir, means loss.

Okay, so why is Konami going through all of the motions of saying it will be exclusive? Again, profits. If they announce now that MGS4 is coming to the Xbox 360, they'll lose money! Why? Not many people will wan't to buy the PS3 version. Sony won't be very happy about that and that can affect future relationships.

Remember when Nintendo and Capcom made the deal for the Resident Evil exclusitivity? Well Capcom's REmakes (and Zero) didn't sell as expected. Resident Evil 4 was included in that deal. Nintendo's sales weren't that good, so Capcom ditched them. Not all together. They kept saying RE4 is exclusive, until like 6 months before Re4 was released. Bad move. This lowered RE4's sales by quite a few numbers (for GCN). It was top ten in Famitsu's Most Wanted charts and was dropped to #20. Guess what replaced it? You guessed it: RE4 for PS2.
"The Xbox 360 is a huge money maker. Why make just a few bucks on the PS3? MGS4 is not cheap to make"

Don't forget how Kojima bragged about how expensive Guns of the Patriot will be to make. They said MGS4 must make a million in its first month to cover costs. With 18 million units of the Xbox 360 sold, there is a very high chance it will come on the 360. Versus less than 10 million on the PS3. Loyalty my ass.

I would not be suprised if a special edition version came to the Xbox 360. Like MGS4: Sustanance. Nobody ever expected MGS2 to come on the original Xbox, and yet it did. Remeber back then when Xbox HAD NO NAME. 360 has way more sales and has a larger name than the 360 right now. The factors now almost guarantee us having MGS4 on the Xbox 360. There are too many Benjamins on the 360 now for Konami to keep it exclusive . Heck, it'd be on the Wii if it weren't for power concerns.

Companies want you to buy the currently scheduled game IN ADDITION to the so called "newly announced" game. We all knew the Xbox 360 Elite was coming out. Micro$oft kept denying it (look at any 2006/mid-2007 EGM mag or google it). People just do it to keep current sales up. Its that feeling of "certainty" they try to give us so we can buy the product, THEN buy the next best thing. Its life. It sucks. But, hey, its business.

Remember, these are my opinions. If you feel differently, please comment. I could be wrong. But I know I am right!:P

Oh, and could ya critique my article?

I don't have any next gen consoles yet, but I wouldn't mind seeing MGS4 on all consoles too. But alas, it IS a Sony console.
